Our Project...
Dear History Teachers,
My 7th grade Gifted and Talented students from Fredericksburg Middle School are completing an archeology project, and they have chosen your city in which to “dig” for information on artifacts that have been found in your city.
If possible, please ask your students to make a list of artifacts that they know have been found in your local area. Maybe these are artifacts have been found on their family property (as with my family, we have many arrowheads from the Apaches that once lived by the Pedernales River), or these might be artifacts that have been found in your area that are housed in a local museum.
If you or your students are not aware of any artifacts, we would gladly take any other historical facts, stories, legends about your area. We could gather some of this information on your town’s website; however, I think it is important for students to feel a sense of ownership and bond with the community in which they are “digging.”
You and/or your class can respond to us in any one of the following ways:
1. Email me at [email protected] or [email protected] with information.
2. Mail information to:
Fredericksburg Middle School
110 West Travis Street
Fredericksburg, Texas 78624
Attn: Kim Zuberbueler
3. Go to our project website and type in your response on our blog. http://7thgradearcheology.weebly.com/blog.html
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 830-997-7657, or email me at [email protected] or [email protected]. Thank you so much for your help in making this a great Texas learning experience for my students.
Sincerely,
Kim Zuberbueler
